Leticia received her PhD in History from Ohio State University in 2016. Her research interests include Modern U.S. History, Women/Gender/Sexuality Studies, and Latin American History. She served two years as the managing editor for Origins: Current Events in Historical Perspective before joining Frontiers.

Interested in the relationship between institutions, place, and activism, she is studying the Chicano Movement (1970s-80s) in the Midwest as part of a greater dissertation project. The project is an intellectual history of the political ideas forming the basis of Midwestern Latino/a activism within a unique regional and institutional context.
